'Meanwhile, Upriver', apart from being a gripping story, acts as a guide to the holy mother Ganga. Chatura Rao has well depicted the beauty of the threads of stories that revolve around the holy waters. The indianness of Yamini and the pure innocence of Shiva adds glitter to the text of the novel. In all, the story and the plot is something that any Indian can relate to.
